I have spent the greater part of the last 3 years working or thinking about putting this album together.

This record is the result of anxiety, depression, hope, love, pain, addiction, hip-hop and its incredible impact on my life, identity, lyricism, fond memories of listening to shit on cassette tapes while riding the bus, end to end burners, Philip K Dick, Pedro Albizu Campos, European Colonization and its toxic impact, and much much more. This record would not be possible if it wasn't for the work and inspiration I got from listening to the beats Messiah Musik sent to me. He let me sit on beats for 3 years while I labored over topics, lyrics, and feeling like I should retire, and he never once pushed me, yelled, or abandoned the project.

The guests I worked with were people I RESPECTED SO MUCH, and reached out because I felt like their voices would not only add to the theme and ideas, but were voices I wanted to hear as a listener on these songs. Old Grape God is a mad scientist from Portland who I found out about 4 years ago and who inspires me with every piece of art he makes. Curly Castro is a member of Wrecking Crew out of Philly/NY and he has one of the most incredible voices, flows, and writing perspectives I have ever heard. Sleep Sinatra is a Lincoln, Nebraska MC who oozes intelligence and depth, and like Castro he has a voice and approach that remind me of the era of X-Clan/Brand Nubian/Scarface. MCF is a brilliant, charismatic, and dynamic MC who hails from Michigan who I met while he all too briefly lived in Portland, and his creativity, live show, and song writing really impressed and motivated me. Without these folks, this record wouldn't sound the same!

There are very very few albums where I don't skip any songs. This is one of them. From the moment Lore hits, you know you're going to hear classic DTS. Zavala keeps pumping out sonically amazing beats and Michael manipulates the rhymes to create earworms that stick with you long after the albums stops. There isn't a single track that doesn't belong. This is definitely going to be my most listened to album of at least 2021 Luke Mason
